GROWING TOGETHER CAMPAIGN

Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care Clinic Redevelopment

Help us reach our goal!

On October 10, St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation announced its $2.7 million Growing TogethER Emergency Department Redevelopment Campaign, marking the largest fundraising campaign to date for the Foundation.

The funds will help bring a 6,000 square foot addition to the hospital's emergency department and a 6,000 renovation to the ambulatory care clinic.

While the Ministry of Health provides 90% of the funds for the project, there is an expectation that the community will come together and contribute the remaining 10%. The government does not provide funding for essential medical equipment inside the building, so the community will be tasked with raising 100% of the cost of equipment.

Thanks to our generous donors, we are 85% toward our goal. But we still need your help!

The project will address key challenges in the emergency department and ambulatory care clinic including privacy & confidentiality, infection control and occupational health and safety.

Modernizing and expanding our Emergency Department is a critical step in ensuring healthcare remains close to home for those who need it the most.

Campaign FAQs

Why is this Campaign necessary?
The Emergency Department at St. Francis Memorial Hospital is more than 30 years old. When the new wing opened three decades ago, the number of patients seen in the Emergency Department was approximately 5,300 annually. Fast forward to 2023, 36 years later, the same Emergency Department has more than doubled its patient flow seeing more than 11,000 patients annually. The renovations to the emergency department will also bring much needed upgrades to the ambulatory care clinic. It will create patient rooms, an improved flow of services, including a designated waiting room and family consultation room. Ultimately, this will improve patient privacy and comfort, aid in confidentiality and infection control, and create standardized spaces.

How will the redevelopment help?
The Emergency Department will see drastic improvements to space and design following the renovation. But most importantly, it will address critical concerns about infection control, privacy and confidentiality, occupational health and safety and include a dedicated area for the ambulatory care clinic. Revitalizing the Emergency Department will not only benefit the community at large today, but it will also ensure the future of local healthcare for generations to come.

How much money has been raised to date?
As of October 10, our Leadership Team has secured 85% in donations toward the Campaign’s $2.7 million goal. We are now asking the community to come together and help us reach our target.
